Yes we recommend you purchase travel insurance that covers any medical emergencies that occur.

Where do we stay?

In Kathmandu we stay in local hotels, and on the trip we stay in homes and small inns. As the Tsum Valley is very new to visitors, we have the very rare privilege of staying with local people and gaining insights into their lives.

What food do we eat?

The food is simple and highly nutritious. We will be eating vegetarian food, however non vegetarians can let us know in advance and we can arrange meals for that need.

Do I need a Visa?

You obtain a Visa for Nepal upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu.

Is there a penalty if I cancel my trip?

If you cancel over 30 days before the start of the trip there is no penalty and if you cancel less than 30 days there is no refund.

What kind of information will I receive to prepare for my trip?

After we receive your deposit, we'll send you a detailed document with a clothing and equipment list, invoice, insurance information,  a Medical form and other information needed to prepare for your trip. Final trip details and rendezvous instructions are sent about three weeks before departure.

Are trip delays a possibility?

Yes, we are going into an area where conditions can change rapidly. We do our best to keep to the itinerary schedule.

What physical conditioning do I need for the tour?

As you will be walking for up to 6-7 hours per day we suggest that you train by  walking and hiking regularly, 1- 5 hours a week.

Do I need any vaccinations?

We recommend you consult your doctor.

Is there a dress code for the region?

Not really, hiking clothing works well in that area.

Does the altitude present issues for visitors?

Not normally, the climb to the maximum altitude of 12,000 feet is very gradual and takes place over a number of days.

The Tsum Valley lies between 6,000 and 12,000 feet.
